New Commander's Table
April 25th, 2008 - General News

The newest issue of the Commander's Table has been released, featuring FSF Griffen.

The Commander's Table is a place for all FSF Hosts to tell their stories. The Commander's Table spans all time and space and you never know where you may find it or who may be there.

The bartender, Cap,makes sure that only Commanders enter and, somehow, always knows exactly what you want to drink before you even realize it yourself.  The bar appears differently to people, drawing from whom and what they are to make a place that is most comfortable to them.

To Klingons it would be just like a place found deep in the cities of the homeworld with weapons abounding on the walls.  To the Irishman, it would be an old fashioned Irish pub.  Each person sees and experiences exactly what they need to allow them to tell their tales.

There is no monetary exchange here.  All drinks, no matter how many you have are all paid for in the form of a story.  It doesn't,  necessarily, have to be a story of Command, just a story that means something and, hopefully, all can learn from it.

Check out this new tale at ct.sb254.com

Anyone interested in the Commander's Table can contact FSF Trinity.

At 8:30 PM US Eastern time Satuday, April 12, ten players will face off against the likes of an FSF Anne Robinson. Will they survive? Will they be able to bank the money needed to win?

The game will play just like the TV show. Each round will be timed. At the end of each round, someone will be voted off. Only one person will have a chance at the My Points jackpot.

Do you want to play? Then email fsfjosh@sb254.com! Only TEN PLAYERS will be selected! If you wish to play, you MUST EMAIL by Friday, April 11th!

This game will take place on our IRC server in the room #weakest-link. The FSF Java chat will allow you entrance, or you can use your own IRC client to connect to our network, irc.sb254.com, and you can join the room then.

Anniversary Celebration Announced
March 18th, 2008 - Group News

This Friday, March 21st, come celebrate the existence of our very group! Yes, the Federation Sim Fleet turns fifteen!

The event will begin at 8PM Eastern time in our #fsf IRC channel. You can get there either through your standard IRC client or via the link on the FSF site.

What will we enjoy?

At 8, we'll start off with a general trivia event. Come and test your science-fiction trivia against other sci-fi fans! This will be followed an open Q&A session, featuring staff members of the FSF. This will also include discussions and recollections of simming history over the past fifteen years.

The rest of the night will be an open invitation party for everyone to enjoy! Chat, play some more trivia, hook up and play a few online games... It's all happening this Friday!

Happy Anniversary, Federation Sim Fleet!

New Sim: Starbase 35
March 13th, 2008 - Simming News

The year is 2365, and the U.S.S Jefferson has just arrived at Starbase 35, a relic of the Federation-Klingon Cold War, on the border of the Romulan Neutral Zone.

Several months ago the U.S.S Enterprise-D  re-established contact with the Romulans, who have considerably upgraded their technologies. As a result, the Federation has dispatched the Jefferson to upgrade Starbase 35 and bring it back online.

Largely unexplored for the past thirty years, the Jefferson has the dual role of reestablishing the base and the Federation's foothold in the territory.

Hosted by FSF BK and FSF Mariko, Starbase 35 will meet every week, starting March 29,  at 10 PM EST on Saturday evenings. Those interested in joining the sim should fill out an application on the AMS.
